Blog Podcast Review
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5250144
OK, this is actually an NPR story about how blogs are changing the lives of the “ME” generation in China. It interviews various people who write blogs or are tech people who monitor the amount of blogs that are going on. Blogging has aloud people to express opinions and get information that was previously banned. I actually found the idea that blogs could change the political climate of a country was interesting.

hello leah,
yes, i agree that blogging has "allowed" people to communicate in ways that are much more effective than our forefathers, or ourselves ten years ago for that matter. i wonder if you could explain just a little by what is the 'me' generation and how it was generated or why it has grown.
podcasting has also allowed many to enter into the public's eye, such as garage bands (no inference to Mac), comedians as other performers. before the lack of funds has hindered such interaction.

This is a great topic to do a little reading/listening on:Podcasters Push the Limits in China, China Paper Reopens without Top Editors,Getting Past China's Government Firewall, U.S. Internet Execs Testify to Congress on China Dealings, Searching the Web Behind the Great Firewall of China,China and the Internet. China is one place where there still is tons of government control, and the youth are really restricted on what they have access to. This generation are the thorns in the sides of the older gereration, much like ours and other countries, but that is just how the world turns :-)
I agree with Joe about the issue of using the Internet to enhance your status, whatever that may be.
In fact, last night I saw a movie and in the credits they gave credit to all the people that have been to their Myspace site and signed up as friends :-) How about that?
Your review was on point. I agree that it is interesting that blogging could be a conrtibuter towards changing the political climate of China. It shows that their is always a way around measures such as censorship.
Leah,
I think that your Blog was very interesting and I like the fact that it talks about communication in different ways. China has become a large Blog supporter and it is interesting to hear the Blogs. Good job!
Jennie
Perhaps China for the moment is tolerating its people to blog their thoughts.
It is still however, a country that censors web search engines such as Google.

Leah,
I agree that the use of blogs have advanced the people of China to taste free exchange of ideas. However, I also agree that China still blocks access to certain content such as a Google search.

Great review.
The other day my wife was verbally brain storming ways to set up events for her stay at home mommies group. I sugggested a blog, this way they could post events and people could reply as they saw fit. Phone conferencing has limitations and using email "reply to all" doesn't work the best for everyone.
